La Antigua Guatemala -the former capital of Guatemala- embraced by three volcanoes is no doubt one of the most beautiful and best preserved colonial cities in the world. The city of Antigua as a whole with its cobblestone streets, colonial art, candy-colored buildings, churches, monuments, handicraft markets, and historical ruins is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
I visited Antigua Guatemala during Holy Week when a crush of people apparently dominates the streets. Despite (or maybe just because of) this fact, I loved the colorful maze the city had to offer.
Getting lost while hunting for snapshots of the vibrant colors, smiling faces and unique scenery was simply priceless. And I couldn’t get enough of them all.
Come join me for a stroll through Antigua’s cute cobblestone streets!
