Lately, I spent a few nights in the charming and cute city of Leiden. I was so pleasantly surprised by its charm that I even dare to say, I liked Leiden way more than Amsterdam -its bigger and busier brother.

Leiden in the Netherlands things to do

If you follow my travels, you might have already noticed that I have generally no luck with weather. This time, Murphy had mercy on me that I could enjoy the sunny and warm summer evenings strolling through the pedestrian and biker friendly streets of Leiden. The city is pretty small that you can easily reach everything on foot, or on bike. In either way, I assure you, it will be a great pleasure to explore this lovely canal city with countless bridges over the canals, many waterfront cafés and restaurants, and the amazing student vibe. Take a look at the snapshots below to convince yourself.

Insider Tip
I normally don’t recommend any places for gastronomy, but this one is a nice treat:

If the weather is nice, simply grab a chair on the terrace to end your tour with a cool drink and let a smile sweep your face.

So, why not to spare an afternoon for Leiden next time when you visit Amsterdam?
